Pádraig Pearses GAA Club would like to thank all who attended our 50th Anniversary Celebration events over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Also a big thank you to our various Sponsors and the many Volunteers, without whom the different events over this memorable weekend would not have been possible. Well done to the organising Committee, led by Dorothy Scarry and Anthony Kenny, on the excellent job they did in organising these events.
Thanks to the Galway and Wexford panels and the Murray family for their participation on the Monday for the inaugural Fr Nicholas Murray Memorial Cup. Galway emerged as winners, 2-13 to 0-15, following an entertaining tussle with Wexford. Five Pearses men turned out in the maroon and white for this special occasion: Tomás Flannery, Ronan Bellew, Colm Raftery, Adrian Bellew and Tomás Kenny. The cup was presented to Galway captain Colm Callanan, by Gerry and Pat Joe Murray, brothers of the late Fr Nick. We hope to make the Fr Murray Cup an annual event.
