There are two categories in the Pádraig Pearses GAA Club Art Competition – Primary and Post- Primary. It is a Competition open to all hurlers, camogie players and footballers registered with Pádraig Pearses GAA Club and Pádraig Pearses Camogie Club.
All entries will be displayed on the evening of the 50th birthday celebrations of Pádraig Pearses GAA Club on February 23rd at Ballymacward Hall. The winning entries will be photographed and displayed digitally on the club website.
Theme of Competition “My Club, My Community and Me”
The Primary School Category will have the following age groups:• Junior Infants andamp;amp; Senior Infants• 1st andamp;amp;2nd Classes• 3rd andamp;amp;4th Classes• 5th andamp;amp; 6th ClassesThere will be a 1st prize and runner up place for each age group.
The Post-Primary Category will be open to all club pupils attending a secondary school.There will be a 1st prize and runner up place.
COMPETITION RULES1. It is a Competition open to all hurlers, camogie players and footballers registered with Pádraig Pearses GAA Club and Pádraig Pearses Camogie Club.2. The text of the theme does not have to be illustrated on your artwork. We are looking for your interpretation of the theme through your art.3. Name, address, age, date of birth and school/other details must be clearly printed on the entry form and then attached to the back of the poster. 4. All entry forms and posters must be certified by teacher/facilitator/parent/guardian (under 18), as being an unaided and original work of the competitor.5. All entries must be submitted on A3 (420 x 297mm) or A2 (594 x 420mm) in landscape with the exception of sculptures, models and wood carvings.6. The entry can be drawn or painted in pencil, charcoal, pen or ink, felt-tip markers, crayon, pastel, water colours, gouache, acrylics, oils, poster colour or collage. Prints done from a lino block, wood block or any other method may also be submitted. 7. Group entries are also welcome.
