Our U21 hurlers played Liam Mellows last weekend, in Round 2 of the ‘B’ Championship. Both teams had been defeated in Round 1, so were pitted against each other in this winner-takes-all knockout matchup. Mellows were the better team on the day winning out, 1-17 to 2-11. Pearses are now eliminated from the title race. Pearses lost both games by just two points, so were not far off the mark. Many of this bunch are U21 again next year and hopefully the experience at this level will stand to them!
