Pandamp;aacute;draig Pearses 2-17 Menlo Emmetts 3-9: Our Junior A hurlers had their first Championship game of this season, against Menlo Emmetts in Carnmore on Friday evening. Seven of this year’s U21 team (two of them Minors) lined out and gave good accounts of themselves. Pearses trailed by three points at half-time, but a good second half performance seen them overturn the deficit and prevail by five points. Enda Cunniffe and Niall Skehill both hit 0-4 from play and there were also good performances from veterans Paul O’Brien and Aidan Kilkenny, both of whom registered scores. Paul O’Brien’s goal coming from a first half 21-yard-free.
