It was with great sadness that the people of Ballymacward-Gurteen and many neighbouring parishes learned of the passing of Martin Scarry yesterday morning. Martin and the Scarry family from Attyregan have been steeped in Padraig Pearses GAA club from its foundation.
Martin held the positions of one of the Club Trustees and formed part of the 1967 Junior winning panel, he served on many Executive, Management and Development committees throughout the years. He held Officer Positions as Club Treasurer, Juvenile Chairman, Registrar. He also participated in many Scor events. Martin played an important role in the growth and development of our club down through the years and will be sadly missed by all.
