Padraig Pearses 1-14 Moycullen 0-15. Our Minor hurlers are through to the Championship Semi-Finals after a hard fought and narrow win over Moycullen this afternoon played in the sunshine in Carnmore. Moycullen dominated the early exchanges, but a Cian Murphy goal brought Pearses back into the game midway through the first half. Scores in the first half from Mark Hennelly, Dean Reilly and Oisin Flannery (frees) along with the goal, took Pearses to half time with a narrow lead 1-6 to 0-8.
Moycullen scores all coming from their full forward line, 5 from play and 3 from frees. In the second half the sides were level on five occasions. Two points from Flannery from placed balls, were cancelled out by three points from the impressive Moycullen corner-forward. Further scores from Hennelly, Murphy and Reilly saw Pearses over the line 1-14 to 0-15.
