With three group wins in a row (over Ballina, Eoghan Ruadh and Abbeyknockmoy) and a Semi-Final victory over Buncrana, Pearses powered their way to the 2011 Féile Division 4 final. Their third final in three weeks (including two Galway finals). Pearses overcame Abbeyknockmoy for a second time, on a scoreline of 3-4 to 2-5 after a titanic battle in Pearse Stadium.
Keith Connell continued his great form in tournament with a hat-trick of goals in the first half. Pearses led 3-3 to 1-1 at the halfway mark. Abbeyknockmoy fought back well in the second half, with Calem Mulry and Lee Cosgrave leading the charge. Pearses goalkeeper Jarlath Healy saved superbly late in the game as Pearses hung on bravely for victory.
Keith Connell finished with 3-1 for Pearses, Brian Sweeney landed two points and Lee Murphy hit the target with a sideline cut. Ronan Carr accepted the cup amongst joyous celebrations. Well done to the lads who rounded off a great year with this win and the management team of Anthony Kenny, Martin Scarry and John Ruane who have done an excellent job in preparing the team.
