Pearses U16s play in the County U16B Semi-Final this Sunday against neighbours Sarsfields at 2pm in Kenny Park, Athenry,andamp;nbsp;Referee is Eoin Shaughnessy. Pearses topped their group with resounding wins over Oranmore-Maree (7-19 to 0-8) and Ahascragh/Fohenagh (4-7 to 0-5). Pearses will be looking to County U16 players Ronan Bellew and Sean Murray to lead them against the Bullaun/New Inn lads. Cappataggle take on Kilnadeema-Leitrim in the other Semi-Final directly afterwards at 3.30pm. Come along and support the team.
In other news Cyril Donnellan was one of 14 Galway players on the shortlist for the 2012 Hurling All-Stars. He has had possibly his best year in the Galway shirt, despite missing out on starting the Semi-Final against Cork. Both Cyril and Fearghal Flannery were unlucky in the All-Ireland Final Replay against the cats, losing out after some questionable decisions by Referee James McGrath swung the momentum in Kilkenny’s favour, leaving them to run out 11 point winners.andamp;nbsp;All involved with the club are incredibly proud of the two lads. They have put our little club on the map by representing us on the biggest stage. I’m sure they will be back in the Final next year to have another tilt at capturing Liam.andamp;nbsp;Finally the Senior domestic action swings back into action next weekend when Pearses take on Gort in the County Senior Quarter-Final next Saturday in Ballinasloe.
